When was the last time you updated your family wall portrait? Look around your home—does it capture the growth and love your family shares today? For Martin, this question sparked an idea. With the arrival of his first grandbaby, he wanted to gift his wife something extraordinary: a recent family wall portrait to celebrate their growing family.

This heartwarming session took place last year, just four days before Christmas. The whole family gathered at Paseo Vista Recreation Area in Chandler, a spot Martin recommended for its simple yet rustic desert charm. It was my first time photographing there, and it didn’t disappoint! The location gave the session a warm, relaxed vibe, perfect for capturing their close-knit bond.

Meet Martin’s Family:

• Martin and his wife

• Their son, daughter-in-law, and their precious grandbaby

• Their daughter, who flew in for the holidays

• And, of course, their beloved family dog

The Story Behind Martin’s Custom Family Wall Portrait

One of the highlights of the session was a unique setup: the entire family posed inside a giant pipe. Martin’s son joked about it being a “sewer pipe,” but the result was nothing short of amazing. The portrait captured their joy and connection, and the moment quickly turned into a cherished memory.

The final artwork? A stunning custom-framed wall portrait that now hangs proudly in their home—right below their wedding photo. It’s a beautiful symbol of how their journey began and where they are today, surrounded by love, laughter, and their growing family.

Check out the short video below to see the big reveal—and make sure to listen to Martin’s wife’s reaction. Her joy and laughter at the memory of the “sewer pipe pose” is a reminder of how powerful family artwork can be.

This session was truly special, and I’m honored to have been part of it. Family wall portraits are more than just photographs; they’re daily reminders of love, connection, and the memories we share.
