Growth is not always comfortable. It’s not pretty, and it’s certainly not painless.
I used to journal a lot. Tucked away on my bookshelf is a pink journal, waiting patiently for me to pick it up again. I had already filled two journals and needed a new one, so I reached for this pink one. But here’s the thing—I had written two entries in it back in September 2020. When I opened it, I took a moment to reflect on where I was four years ago.
I realized I’ve become a full-time photographer, both as a media specialist with ListerPros and as a portrait photographer on the side.
I realized I’m okay with being alone—I’ve learned to enjoy my own company.
I learned that it’s okay to let go.
I’ve made life-changing decisions.
Yet, I was still struggling with depression, and negative thoughts.
I was wrestling with my faith.
It’s funny, in a way. I still face some of the same mental challenges, but I’ve learned to push through them. I’ve also accomplished a few things I set out to do, and today, I’m living the life I once envisioned.
Embracing Growth
Yes, growth is not comfortable.
Growth is painful.
But growth is also beautiful.
Growth allows you to appreciate every step of the journey.
Growth is learning how to keep going, even on your bad days.
Growth is different.
Growth is letting go.
Growth is spreading your wings and finding joy, even on a rainy day.
If this was a great reminder for you, hit the heart in the corner to let me know!
